A Lakeville woman faces charges she embezzled $220,000 from a Burnsville title and real estate company to pay 24 creditors, including Macy's and Bloomingdales.
The Dakota County attorney's office Thursday charged Kuntee Singramdoo, 49, with five counts of theft and three counts of theft by swindle, all felonies.
Singramdoo was an independent closer with Walsh Title and Real Estate Services, where she processed real estate closings, notarized documents and sold title insurance policies.
Between February 2004 and June 2007, she allegedly issued at least 184 checks to 24 different creditors to whom she or her family owed money. They included U.S. Bank, J.C. Penney, Macy's, Goodman Jewelers, Bloomingdales, Honda, American Express and Discover.
